Proposed Biomass Power Plant
UPDATE
In December 2007, the Shire of Manjimup received a Development Application for a Proposed Biomass Power Plant to be situated next to the Diamond Mill, Palings Rd (off Eastbourne Rd) in the locality of Diamond Tree. 510 submissions were received by the close of the submission period.
Council, at its ordinary meeting on 28th February 2008 resolved to forward to the EPA, in the form of a submission, the Biomass Power Plant Agenda Item and associated attachments (the item was passed by Council unanimously as per the officer’s recommendations), and a copy of the independent review on Air Quality conducted by Sinclair Knight Merz at the request of the Shire of Manjimup. Council also resolved to forward to the EPA full copies of all submissions received.
Council is now awaiting advice from the Environmental Protection Authority before formal consideration of the planning application.
