Walpole Town Jetty Precinct Improvement Plan

The Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) and the Shire of Manjimup seek your input into the planning stage of a project aimed at improving the facilities located at the town jetty precinct in Walpole, Western Australia.

The Walpole town jetty precinct receives a high level of use due to its deep water access, close proximity to town and large but informal car park area. Visitor numbers to Walpole are increasing and there is a growing community concern that the facilities are in need of improvement due to visitor risk, user conflict, congestion, environmental and emergency response access issues and concerns.

The project area includes the car park, access road, public jetty and boat ramps, picnic/bbq area, fish cleaning table and the existing toilets (please refer to map enclosed).  The project will consider options for sealing and formalising the car park and improving the jetty and boat ramp facilities.

Please download and complete this survey (PDF) Instructions on how to return completed surveys are provided on the survey form. All submissions must be received by
Friday 17 February 2012.

DEC and the Shire of Manjimup will also be conducting a public open-house consultation:

Wednesday 8 February 2012

Conference Room, Community Resource Centre

Walpole Central, Latham Avenue, Walpole

(Stop in any time between 9am and 12noon or between 4pm and 7pm)

Your feedback will help us gain a better understanding of the community’s concerns and ideas regarding the improvement of the town jetty precinct and will be used as a valuable part of the planning process.
