A Youth web site is currently being developed in consultation with young people throughout the Shire.
Skate Parks / BMX Park
Manjimup
Manjimup Skate Park is located off Arnott Street within the Manjimup Recreation Ground. This facility was opened in 2001 and is available for all of the community to enjoy.
BMX - A dirt BMX track is located at the Collier Street Sporting Ground off Johnston Street.
Pemberton
Pemberton Skate Park is currently in the planning stages with grants currently being sought.
Citizen of the Year – Under 25
Nominations for Citizen of the year – Under 25 are invited in October each year for awarding on Australia Day each year.
Governor John Sanderson Scholarships sponsored by the Shire of Manjimup
The Shire of Manjimup through its Strategic Plan adopted a strategy to encourage youth and youth leadership in the community. As part of this initiative the Shire of Manjimup is offering four scholarships in leadership, trades assistance and further education for the dux of the two senior schools, each to the value of $1,000.
The Governor for Western Australia, Lt General John Sanderson (AC), who has historical links to the town of Northcliffe, has kindly accepted the role of patron of the Shire scholarships.
The Principals may nominate resident students from the towns of Walpole, Northcliffe, Pemberton and Manjimup, who they believe have demonstrated a strong commitment to their personal development as leaders of the future.
Nominations are invited in the four categories:

| Eligibility: | For year 10 or 12 students. This scholarship is for students who have displayed leadership qualities and who would be encouraged by further personal development. |
| Scholarship: | The Ultimate Land Sea Challenge on the Leeuwin from 11/12/00 to 21/12/00 (value up to $1,000) |
| Title: | Trade Assistance |

| Eligibility: | For year 10 students This scholarship is suitable for students who are considering a pre-apprenticeship course. |
| Scholarship: | Assistance will be given for fees, resources, tools and/or books to the value of $1,000 in the TAFE course of their choice. |
| Title: | Academic Achievement – Two Scholarships |

| Eligibility: | Dux: Manjimup Senior High School Dux: Kearnan College |
| Scholarship: | Financial assistance of $1,000 each towards first year of university or further studies |
All nominations must be lodged with the Shire. Only those students resident in the Shire of Manjimup are eligible for nomination.
A committee comprising the Shire President, Director Corporate and the Manager Community Services will evaluate the nominations and make a recommendation to the Governor.
