An extraordinary election will be held on Saturday 29 November 2014 to fill the vacancy for one Councillor in the Coastal Ward (term expiring October 2017).  Enrolments will close at 5pm on Friday 10 October 2014.

To be eligible to vote in local government elections, you need to be either a resident of the Coastal Ward, an eligible non-resident occupier of rateable property in the Coastal Ward or a nominee of a body corporate that owns or occupies rateable property in the Coastal Ward.  You must also be correctly enrolled to vote in State or Commonwealth elections and be at least 18 years of age on election day.

1. Residents:  A person who lives at an address in the Coastal Ward and is correctly enrolled on the State roll for that address, is automatically enrolled to vote in the election.  To check that your enrolment is up to date, contact the WA Electoral Commission www.waec.wa.gov.au or phone 13 63 06.  Enrolment forms may be obtained from our Administration Centre, any Post Office or from the WA Electoral Commission.    

2.  Non-resident owners and non-resident occupiers of rateable property are not automatically enrolled.  Non-residents who wish to vote in this Coastal Ward election or Corporate bodies who wish to nominate poeple as nominees for this election should apply to the Chief Executive Officer.  Enrolment Eligibility Claim forms may be obtained from our Administration Centre, or downloaded from the Dept of Local Government's website:  http://lg.wa.gov.au/Content/LG/Elections/Forms.aspx

The Shire of Manjimup will be undertaking sealing works on Mount Street between Giblett Street and Rose Street and on Giblett Street between Mount Street and Brockman Street.

The works are planned for Tuesday 30 September and Wednesday 1 October 2014 weather conditions permitting.

2015 Raffle Stall bookings for the site outside the Manjimup Newsagency will be accepted at the Shire Administration Office from 8.30 am on Tuesday 1 July 2014.  Bookings are limited to eight per group, per annum.
