Shire of Manjimup Centenary 1908 - 2008

JC Rose Esq, first Chairman of the Board

2008 commemorates the 100th year anniversary of the Shire of Manjimup / Warren Road Board.

The Centenary Art Exhibition of "Sir Claude Hotchin" spent several months "on the road", and has been exhibited in Northcliffe, Walpole Pemberton and Manjimup - a fitting tribute to Sir Claude Hotchin in our centenary year.

A special Centenary Council Meeting was held on Thursday 3rd July 2008 with a special plaque being unveiled to commemorate 100 years of Local Government.

The Special Centenary Council Meeting and Commemorative Gala Dinner were held on Thursday 3 July and were an outstanding success, thanks to the efforts of staff and other volunteers.  The night had great atmosphere with the Governor as guest of honour.   We were overwhelmed by the community support for the event and its success was largely due to the contributions and efforts of our community.
