The Shire of Manjimup is please to have been selected as a SuperTown...

This is a State Government initative to begin the process of enhancing and stimulating growth in key regional towns.  Manjimup was one of nine towns selected, the nine towns will share $85.5million in Royalties for Regions funding this year under the Regional Centres Development Plan (SuperTowns).

Shire President, Wade DeCampo said, "We see this as an opportunity for the population throughout the Shire to grow and be sustainable.  Having a larger Community means better facilities to attract more people, such  as; health, education and new industry.

Cr DeCampo advised, "Throughout the process Council will be working with the neighbouring towns so their communities can grow along with Manjimup.
This is a unique opportunity for the Shire of Manjimup to work collaboratively with other Government Departments towards achieving the Regional Centres Development Plan objectives.  We need to seize this opportunity and make the most of of it".

There is a need to gauge community interest, as such the Shire will be seeking leaders to champion Manjimup's aspirations, and be avaiable to contribute ideas through community reference groups.  Key projects will need to be identified and resources determind within the next 12 months.
