Your chance to apply for Community Grant funding

MEDIA RELEASE – Your chance to apply for Community Grant funding for 2017/2018

February 2017

The Shire of Manjimup's annual community grants round for 2017/2018 opened on Wednesday, 1 February 2017.  This is the annual opportunity, provided by the Shire, for community groups and organisations to seek funding for projects, events or activities.

Funding is available under the three categories of events, community projects and youth.  "This is the only chance people get in any given financial year to access Shire funds," explained Shire President Wade DeCampo.  "Every year we set aside a portion of rates revenue to give back to the community through this grant funding process.  Some community projects and events wouldn't be possible without the support of these types of funding opportunities, so if you've got an idea for an initiative that requires some financial support to make it happen, make the most of this opportunity," said Cr DeCampo.

Applicants are not required to be an incorporated body to apply for funding, which Cr DeCampo describes as "unbiased and limitless, it opens the funding opportunity up to basically anyone from within the Shire of Manjimup who has a good idea that is going to achieve a positive outcome for our community." Applications for one-off or pop-up projects and events are welcome, "the more diverse and inclusive, the better," said Cr DeCampo.

Application forms can be downloaded from the Shire's website (, or collected from the Shire of Manjimup Administration Office and public libraries or the Community Resource Centres in Manjimup, Pemberton, Northcliffe and Walpole.

Applications close at 4pm on Friday, 31 March 2017. For further information about community grants please contact Michelle McGinty, Community Services Administration Officer on 9771 7701, email or visit the Shire's website:
