The Shire of Manjimup has historically run in person elections, however in an effort to improve voter participation, the Election was conducted via postal votes. This also gives people with mobility issues the opportunity to receive the Candidate profiles and ballot paper in their own home and arrange for it's delivery. Ward Representation
Your Councillors are elected by the community via the Local Government Elections. Elections are held every two years on the third Saturday of October. Councillors serve a four year term, thus at each ordinary election, approximately half of the eleven positions are up for election. This also means that for wards with only one elected member, ordinary elections only happen once every four years.
Each Councillor is elected to represent a ward in the district. The Shire of Manjimup is divided into 6 wards with the following division of labour;
Central | 5 | Coastal | 1 | East | 1 |
North | 1 | South | 1 | West | 2 |
