Wellness and Respite Community Centre

Located within the Manjimup central business district, on the corner of Rose and Edward Streets the centre consists of:

      • Manjimup Community Home Care reception offices/hot desks;
      • eight bed respite wing;
      • multifunction conference space;
      • meeting room;
      • therapy room;
      • community room;
      • dementia specific activity and lounge area;
      • dementia friendly central sensory garden; and
      • commercial kitchen.

Manjimup Community Home Care
Manjimup Community Home Care operates from the centre and provides a diverse range of services to older persons, people living with disabilities, people living with dementia and their carers.

Services include:

      • help around the house and garden;
      • assistance with meals;
      • centre-based day care;
      • social supports;
      • personal care;
      • carer support;
      • medication assistance;
      • transport;
      • activities, outings ; and more 

Manjimup Community Home Care delivers three individual programs:

      • Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP, formerly known as HACC)
      • Shire of Manjimup GROW – NDIS Disability service provider
      • Commonwealth Home Care Packages (HCP)

All three of these programs tailor make services that best support individuals, to remain independent and living in the comfort of their own home.

Respite wing          
The Wellness Centre respite wing fills an identified gap in the provision of low and high-needs day and overnight "out of home" respite services and offers a home like environment.

The centre with its eight bed facility provides emergency or crisis respite and 24 hour respite care for ageing clients, people with disabilities and dementia care patients in the Manjimup Shire and surrounding towns including Nannup, Bridgetown-Greenbushes, Donnybrook-Balingup and Boyup Brook Shires.

The centre ensures that individuals (particularly those with dementia) are in a secure, safe, stimulating and supervised environment and gives special consideration to:

      • culturally diverse backgrounds;
      • effective nutrition;
      • medication management;
      • wound Care;
      • oxygen therapy;
      • enteric and difficult feeding issues;
      • continence management;
      • social and emotional support;
      • personal care; and
      • spiritual beliefs.

The respite wing is staffed by clinical staff when required and is accessible through private or government funding.  Appointments can be made to discuss eligibility and fees on 9771 6900.

Multifunction conference space:          
A warm, light and contemporary space which comfortably accommodates up to 150 guests and is equipped with a high quality projector and large screen, chairs, tables and tea and coffee making facilities.

This space is utilised by Manjimup Community Home Care for seniors exercise groups, tai chi, meetings, training, workshops and social events.

The conference room is available to hire by not for profit groups, community groups and commercial entities.

Meeting room:        
An attractive and functional boardroom style space accommodating up to 20 people. The meeting room comes equipped with a large timber meeting table, comfortable chairs, video conferencing facilities and tea and coffee making facilities.

The meeting room is utilised by Manjimup Community Home Care for meetings and video conferencing.

This room is available for hire by the broader community.

Therapy room:       
A private room suitable for small meetings, one on one consultations and small group therapy sessions.

The therapy room is available for hire to community groups and government funded therapy services.

Community room:
Substantially smaller and more homely than the conference room, this modern, light and functional community space is suitable for up to 30 people and is equipped with tables, chairs, tea and coffee making facilities, a large screen TV and the capacity to use the adjoining commercial kitchen.

This is the space in which Manjimup Community home Care holds its regular in-house seniors activities and its twice weekly dementia specific Boronia Club.

The community room is available for hire.

Commercial kitchen:        
A state of the art kitchen equipped with:

      • a large cool room and freezer;
      • dry store;
      • gas oven, microwave, convention oven and warmer;
      • dishwasher, multiple sinks, ample bench space; and
      • crockery, cutlery and bake ware.

The kitchen is utilised for all Manjimup Community Home Care functions.

The kitchen is available for hire by community groups, commercial entities and the general public.
