Personal care
This service provides assistance with daily self-care tasks in order to help a consumer maintain hygiene and grooming, including:
eating | medication support & administration | bathing |
toileting | getting in and out of bed | grooming |
dressing | moving about the house | basic foot and nail care |
Personal care is usually provided in the home. In some cases, care may be provided in a centre, for example if someone is homeless or living in a temporary shelter.
Support workers must have appropriate training to carry out personal care.
