This service provides assistance with daily self-care tasks in order to help a client maintain hygiene and grooming, including:
eating
| medication support & administration
| bathing
|
toileting
| getting in and out of bed
| grooming
|
dressing
| moving about the house
| basic foot and nail care
|
Personal care is usually provided in the home. In some cases, care may be provided in a centre, for example if someone is homeless or living in a temporary shelter.
Support workers must have appropriate training to carry out personal care.
