Development Control Unit

The Development Control Unit (DCU) is a body of Shire staff that meet every six weeks to discuss and consider strategic developments and issues within the Shire of Manjimup. DCU is chaired by the Director of Development & Regulation and it comprises Officers, Managers and Directors from the Works and Services (Technical, Parks Operations) and Statutory Services (Planning, Building, Health) Departments of the  organisation.

A Joint DCU meeting is held twice-yearly with the Department of Parks and Wildlife to discuss and consider strategic developments and issues common to both organisations.

The DCU is also used as a forum for prospective developers and business owners to gain an understanding of, and query Shire requirements, prior to the commencement of any major development within the Shire of Manjimup.
