AquaCentre laps up Gold Waterwise Aquatic Centre recognition.
The Manjimup Regional AquaCentre has been re-endorsed and recognised as a Gold Waterwise Aquatic Centre for the 2020/2021 reporting year. The centre will be formally recognised at a Waterwise Recognition Breakfast in May 2022 and be given special mention for being a part of the program for over 5 years.
Shire President Paul Omodei commented “Climate change and a growing population have impacted our water resources dramatically across the state. The Shire of Manjimup are committed to implementing water efficient practices to reduce costs and negative effects on the environment”.
“Over the past five years many efforts have been made to reduce the wastage of water. The Manjimup Regional AquaCentre have been awarded a gold status as water usage rates have satisfied requirements of key performance indicators set by Water Corporation” he added.
A couple examples of projects that have contributed to this achievement are the installation of pool blankets and the new replacement of the facility’s Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system.
