2026 Annual Hard Waste Collection - Key dates and information
In April 2026, the Shire announced that its vergeside hard waste collection service for 2026 will be held later than it has done in previous years. This decision considered the impact of waste on verges during a busy period of community events, Easter, school holidays and increased visitor activity across the Shire. It also reflected rising operational and fuel costs and contractor availability affecting waste collection services across WA local government areas.
The Shire are now pleased to confirm that the Hard Waste Collection will take place during August / September 2026, with specific dates outlined below.

Please note:
- Items must not be placed on the verge yet
- A further notice will be issued closer to collection periods, advising when items can be placed out
- It's important that residents review the Information Sheet found here, which outlines critical information about item dimension requirements, do's and don'ts, and lists of what you can and can't put out for collection
- This service is available to domestic properties with an existing regular kerbside bin collection service only
