Shire of Manjimup CEO Recognised in WALGA Honours Program
The Shire of Manjimup acknowledges Chief Executive Officer, Ben Rose, who was recognised with a Merit Award at the Western Australian Local Government Association Local Government Honours Program held on Friday 12 June 2026.
The Local Government Honours Program recognises the contributions of Staff and Councillors who have demonstrated sustained service and commitment to the sector, their organisations and the communities they serve.
Mr Rose has more than 20 years’ experience in public service across regional and metropolitan Western Australia, State Government redevelopment authorities and the United Kingdom planning system. Since commencing as Chief Executive Officer of the Shire of Manjimup in 2023, he has worked with Council, staff and the community to deliver a range of strategic and organisational initiatives.
Prior to joining the Shire, Mr Rose served as Chief Executive Officer at the Shire of Donnybrook Balingup and held senior roles across planning, infrastructure and redevelopment organisations in Western Australia and internationally. Across his career, Mr Rose has also contributed to a number of professional and governance bodies within the Local Government sector, supporting collaboration and sector development. He currently serves as a Board Director of the Local Government Insurance Scheme.
Shire President, Donelle Buegge, acknowledged the recognition, saying:
“This award reflects Ben’s long-standing commitment to Local Government and the work he has undertaken across a range of roles in the sector” and that “at the Shire of Manjimup, he has worked collaboratively with Council, staff and the community to progress key priorities and strengthen the organisation.”
The Shire of Manjimup acknowledges the recognition and the broader contributions of Local Government professionals and elected members across Western Australia.
