Removal of Beached Vessel at Windy Harbour

Over the previous months, a vessel became stranded on the Windy Harbour shoreline. Since the vessel washed ashore, the Shire of Manjimup has been working with the relevant State Government authorities to assist in progressing its removal as quickly as possible.

The Shire wishes to advise that the Department of Transport has now engaged contractors to remove the vessel from the area. The contractors are awaiting favourable weather and sea conditions before commencing removal works, which are expected to take place over the coming weeks.

During this time, leaseholders and visitors are reminded to keep a safe distance from the vessel and any machinery operating on the beach as part of the removal process.

"Windy Harbour is a special place for many people, and we’re pleased to see the steps now being taken to restore this section of its coastline."
