This season, the Manjimup Photo Club is swapping spores for petals as it pauses its popular Fantastic Fungi competition to welcome Spring with a vibrant WonderfulWildflowers competition.
The photography competition features an Open Class and a Primary School class for emerging photographers. From 111 captivating submissions, 35 standout images will be featured in a stunning exhibition at the Manjimup Art Gallery and a further 70 will be screened on a looped slide show on a wide screen TV. The exhibition opens on Saturday 4 October.
Thanks to generous winter rains, this year’s wildflowers are nothing short of spectacular, bursting with colour, diversity and natural beauty from the local region and beyond. The exhibition promises a breathtaking celebration of nature’s artistry, captured through the lenses of passionate photographers from throughout the State.
There are an estimated 12,000 species of Western Australian wildflowers, 60% of which are endemic to this state and are naturally found nowhere else on this planet. WA is internationally recognised as one of the most diverse regions in the world for flora.
The Wonderful Wildflowers exhibition will be on display from 4-31 October 2025.
