Update on Expressions of Interest for Aged Care Services and Assets
The Shire of Manjimup has undertaken an Expressions of Interest (EOI) process seeking submissions from suitably qualified and experienced Aged Care Providers for the potential divestment of the following Shire of Manjimup aged and community care services and assets:
- Moonya Lodge Baptist Care Nursing Home location, Ipsen Street, Manjimup.
- Residential Aged Care Site, 32 Hospital Avenue, Manjimup.
- Wellness and Respite Community Centre, 1A Edwards Street, Manjimup.
- Manjimup Home and Community Care Aged and NDIS Services.
The EOI process attracted interest from a number of organisations. All submissions were assessed against the following criteria:
- Continuity of Care
- Local Service Delivery
- Workforce Retention & Employment
- Infrastructure & Service Expansion
- Community Engagement
These criteria reflect the Shire’s commitment to ensuring the long-term sustainability and enhancement of these vital services by identifying a provider with the capacity and readiness to deliver and invest in aged and community care for the region.
Upon assessment, the following three proponents have been shortlisted by Council (in alphabetical order): BaptistCare, Hall & Prior, Respect Group.
These proponents demonstrated in their submissions that they hold the required aged care provider accreditation, expertise, experience, and the ability and willingness to run the assets and services while investing capital to enhance and expand their capacity to meet the growing community demand.
As the next step in the process, the shortlisted organisations will be invited to submit a formal detailed proposal. A comprehensive due diligence process will follow to assess each applicant’s capacity, experience, and alignment with community needs.
It is envisaged that the transition to another provider could occur in the second half of 2026. The Shire will continue to keep stakeholders and community members informed throughout the divestment process.
