Shire of Manjimup and Manjimup Trail Bike Hub Inc. to officially open Stages 1 and 2 of the Manjimup Trail Bike Hub
The Shire of Manjimup, in collaboration with Manjimup Trail Bike Hub Inc., will officially open Stages 1 and 2 of the Manjimup Trail Bike Hub at the Manjimup Trail Bike Hub Centre, 51 Mottram Street, Manjimup, on Wednesday 23 September 2026.
The opening recognises the successful delivery and operation of the first two stages of this innovative regional trail bike recreational tourism initiative, which is supporting trail bike enthusiasts of all skill levels while promoting safe, sustainable and responsible riding in the Southern Forests region.
Stages 1 and 2 form the foundation of the Manjimup Trail Bike Hub and are contributing to the broader vision of establishing Manjimup as a leading adventure tourism destination and a key centre for trail bike experiences in Western Australia. Each stage of the Hub has been designed to cater for a different trail bike experience, with Stage 1 supporting adventure bike riding, Stage 2 catering for trail bike tourers, Stage 3 a private property opportunity, Stage 4 focused on single trail riding, and Stage 5 planned for family explorers.
Project funding to date includes $980,000 from the Australian Government through the Regional Recovery Partnership Program, a $576,500 contribution from the Shire of Manjimup towards Stages 1 and 2, and $67,141 through the Native Forestry Transition Program Community Small Grant Fund Round 2 to Manjimup Trail Bike Hub Inc. Further State Government funding has also been secured to support the delivery of Stages 4 and 5.
With Stages 1 and 2 now operating, the Hub is already providing riders with a curated network of adventure and trail bike touring routes using existing roads and forest trails, supported by mapping, rider information and the Manjimup Trail Bike Hub Centre. As later stages are completed, the Hub is projected to attract more than 33,600 visitors annually, generate significant visitor expenditure, and support local businesses including accommodation, hospitality, retail, tourism and service providers.
The Hub also reflects the region’s strong history in motocross and off-road motorcycling, with the project first identified by the Shire of Manjimup in 2015 and progressed through feasibility work, extensive rider consultation, local community involvement and ongoing collaboration with Manjimup Trail Bike Hub Inc. and the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions.
Shire President Donelle Buegge said the Trail Bike Hub represented a significant achievement for the community, with the project also delivering benefits beyond recreation. “The official opening of Stages 1 and 2 of the Manjimup Trail Bike Hub is an exciting milestone for our community and a celebration of what has been achieved through strong collaboration between the Shire of Manjimup, Manjimup Trail Bike Hub Inc. and the trail bike community.
Stages 1 and 2 are providing riders with curated and sanctioned routes through the Southern Forests, supported by information and facilities that encourage safe, sustainable and responsible riding, while also creating opportunities for local businesses, volunteers and visitors to experience everything our region has to offer.

Event details: Official Opening – Stages 1 and 2, Manjimup Trail Bike Hub Centre, 51 Mottram Street, Manjimup WA 6258. The opening will be a small formal event on 23 September 2026, to celebrate the delivery of these milestones and acknowledge the funding contributions that have supported the project to date. A separate community event organised by Manjimup Trail Bike Hub Inc. will be held later in the day.
