District Community Advisory Groups

Are you interested in joining a District Community Advisory Group in Manjimup, Pemberton, Northcliffe or Walpole? These groups provide a link between the community and Council - a place to share local perspectives, raise ideas and provide advice on issues and opportunities that matter most to your district. They operate in accordance with Council Policy 1.1.10 Committees, Advisory Groups and Reference Groups.

Purpose of the Groups
The purpose of District Community Advisory Groups is to provide a forum for community discussion and feedback on key strategic issues, offer advice and local insight to Council on matters affecting each district, and strengthen collaboration between Council and the community.

Membership
Each group includes five to nine community members who represent a broad range of views, experience and interests within their district. Membership is voluntary, and appointments are made by the Council following an Expression of Interest (EOI) process.

Who can apply:
- Community members who live, work or have strong connections within the district.
- People who are passionate about contributing ideas and feedback on local priorities.
- Applicants who can commit to attending at least two meetings per year.

Meetings
Each group meets at least twice a year, with additional meetings as needed. Meetings are informal and focus on open discussion, ideas and advice. Notes from meetings are presented to Council for information and to help guide decision-making.
