In light of the new social distancing measures announced by the Commonwealth Government on Friday 20 March 2020 to stop the spread of COVID19, the Shire of Manjimup has made the decision to cancel group activities at the Manjimup Regional AquaCentre. The AquaCentre pools, fitness room and caf will remain open for individual use at this stage.
Group fitness, swimming lessons and the crche will not operate from Monday 23 March 2020 until further notice.
For participants and members the following will be arranged:
- Prepaid lessons - Any outstanding prepaid lessons will be credited to your account to be used when programs resume.
- Memberships - Pool, fitness and platinum memberships will be frozen from Monday 23 March 2020.
- Term passes - Expiry dates for term passes will be extended.
- Direct Debit - All direct debit payments for memberships will cease until programs restart.
"We still want you to stay fit and healthy and understand that the AquaCentre is also a social hub. We encourage you to still use the AquaCentre facilities as an individual being mindful of the social distancing measures in place" said Shire President Paul Omodei.
"We are entering into uncertain times across the world, but we should remember that the world has overcome pandemics in the past, some with great losses, what we have in our favour now is access to great medical facilities and highly trained and prepared scientists and medical officers who are working around the clock".
It is imperative that we follow all advices provided to us through the Commonwealth and State Governments as these measures are being put in place to protect our elderly and vulnerable community members.
Our wonderful team at the AquaCentre will be there as usual during normal opening hours:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 6am - 8pm, Tuesday and Thursday: 8am - 8pm, Saturday: 9am - 5pm and Sunday: 10am - 5pm.
